We all know Jaguar has a long history of building beautiful and outright sexy cars. The classic E-Type immediately comes to mind. And now the UK carmaker has announced that its F-Pace SUV has been voted the "most beautiful car in the world" for 2017. The Jaguar F-Pace has won both the World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year titles. In fact, it's the only vehicle to have earned both titles in the 13-year history of the World Car Awards. So, how was this all decided?

A total of 75 car journalists hailing from 24 countries made the deciding votes. Also impressive is the fact that not only is the F-Pace the fastest selling model Jaguar has ever built, it's also its first SUV. "The F-Pace is our first ever SUV but it is clearly recognizable as a Jaguar and for it to win the 2017 World Car of the Year trophy vindicates our decision to bring our unique design principles and dynamic qualities to a new sector of the market," stated Jaguar's famed design director, Ian Callum. There's no doubt in our mind the Jaguar F-Pace is a beauty, but we're not entirely convinced its the most beautiful car on the road. What about Jaguar's own F-Type? The Aston Martin DB11?

Something not English, like the new Alfa Romeo Giulia? There are many options, but the F-Pace is still a nice choice. Given the massive popularity of SUVs these days, don't be surprised to see these type of design awards being given to them in the future.
