Last year saw the debut of the stunning Pagani Huayra BC Roadster. Powered by a twin-turbo V12 delivering 752-horsepower, it's an immensely powerful machine and breathtakingly beautiful to behold. Pagani, however, obviously thinks there's still room for improvement, because our spies have spotted what appears to be a prototype of a more hardcore Huayra BC Roadster being tested on the streets of Italy.

Copious amounts of camouflage hide most of the details, but the front fascia looks noticeably more aggressive than the standard Roadster, sporting a new bumper and larger grille opening similar to its BC coupe counterpart. At the rear, we can see an aggressive diffuser and quad exhaust tips taken from the Huayra Roadster, but the prototype is missing some signature design elements of the Huayra BC like a massive rear wing, bigger diffuser, and unique BC wheels. Hopefully these will soon be added to an updated prototype, unless the roadster version is less extreme-looking than the coupe.

Like the BC coupe before it, expect the Huayra BC Roadster to follow a simple recipe: more power, less weight, and better handling. The Huayra BC coupe's horsepower was raised from 700 hp to 750 hp, so the more extreme BC Roadster could potentially produce around 800 horsepower if it receives a similar increase in power. Likewise, the Huayra Roadster weighs 176 pounds less than the standard coupe, so the BC could be even lighter. The Huayra BC is named after the late Benny Caiola, a friend of Horacio Pagani. He was Pagani's first customer and the name was first applied to a limited run of Pagani Huayra coupes.

Production was limited to just 20 cars, so we wouldn't be surprised if the Huayra BC Roadster's availability is just as limited. There's a good chance every example has already seen sold too, as Pagani typically offers private debuts to potential customers before unveiling a new model to the public.
