Or the beginning of a new start?
Say what you will about Scion, but in the beginning the automaker placed enthusiasts first. The humble brand started back in 2002 with two concepts, one of which turned into the Scion xB. With the Scion xB 686 Parklan Edition, the brand is saying farewell to the boxy vehicle as it's being discontinued at the end of this year. This special edition is a collaboration between Scion and 686, which is a snowboard technician apparel company. The xB may not have been our favorite vehicle, but we're sad to see it go.
Exterior changes on the vehicle include gloss-black 16-inch alloys with the 686 stamped logo tie, blacked-out badges, rear license plate garnish, door handles, and side mirrors. Of course there's no way to miss the Cocoa Bean Metallic paint color with red lines in the front, rear and on the side mirrors. On the inside, the 686 Parklan Edition gets quilted patterning and modern cubist camo style reflecting 686's design. Interesting features include zippered seat back pockets and a driver's side zippered storage pocket. Only 686 units will be built and priced at $19,685, excluding fees.
