The 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 R rings in the changes for next year's racing season. Aside from improved power, the Germans have given this Porsche a makeover that makes it look like possibly the greatest looking Porsche of all time. The German engineers at Porsche have squeezed out an extra 20hp for the GT3 R, giving it a grand total of 500hp from its rear-mounted 4-liter flat 6-cylinder engine.

An optimized intake system in addition to the upgraded gearing of the sequential 6-speed transmission also adds to the GT3 R's improved performance. The racer also carries over the traction control system featured on the 911 racers since 2010. As mentioned earlier, Porsche added some flair to this year's racecar. The silver finish is complemented by an incredible red and white racing strip and rear wing. The 2012 Porsche 911 GT3 R prices at $435,000 (plus VAT) and will be delivered to racing teams starting in November of this year. Porsche is also offering upgrade kits for their 2010 and 2011 models which will price at $62,000.
