We know everything about the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray. It's performance capabilities are beyond impressive and it's overall quality has dramatically improved over that of its predecessors. And with that knowledge in hand, many are already speculating what the future holds in store for the next Corvette Z06 and ZR1. We previously reported details about the former, which could be branded the Z07, but little has been said regarding the new ZR1. Today we may have our very first answers.

The photos you're looking at are that of an LTI-style, Gen V Chevy small block, but it's got something that should get everyone excited: a supercharger. Look closely and you'll spot a twin-rotor supercharger mounted high on the front as well as intercooler plumbing. We can't imagine GM developing this engine for anything other than a Corvette, but which one exactly? Z07? ZR1? Chevy isn't saying a word, but previously reports have claimed that the Z07 will debut in 2015.
