Especially if it came with an even more affordable base price.
If you were to directly compare the size of the entry-level Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class and the C-Class, you'll notice there isn't a huge difference. Sure, the C-Class is a little bit bigger, but the CLA does have that sub-$30,000 base price (if you're lucky enough to find one on a dealer lot for that amount). But what if Mercedes were to downsize the CLA even further and build a sedan that, size wise, was a more appropriate rival to the likes of the Audi A3 sedan and BMW 1 Series sedan?
Rendering artist Theophilus Chin came to this realization as well, so he prepared a few images of what an even smaller Mercedes sedan could look like. He basically shortened the body of the CLA as well as the front overhang. The result is a more compact, better proportioned sedan than the CLA. In theory, this is still based on the same platform as the A-Class/CLA. So imagine this with the same twin-turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder (assuming it would fit) as the CLA45 AMG. Now that's something we'd really love to see happen.
