Is Toyota About To Unveil A Badass Off-Road Tacoma This Week?

Teaser

We think so.

Toyota has released a new teaser of a model that the automaker will most likely unveil at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show. The single picture that has found its way online reveals a grille with “Toyota” being the main focal point of the teaser, which has us thinking that the upcoming pickup truck will most likely be a new variant of the Tacoma TRD Pro. The TRD Pro has always been an off-roading package for enthusiasts looking to blast down dirt roads.

When Toyota revealed the redesigned 2016 Tacoma in 2015, the automaker didn’t have the TRD Pro model in the lineup. However, the automaker did confirm that a new variant of the mid-size truck was in the works. Assuming that the TRD Pro follows in its predecessor’s footsteps, the off-roading-oriented pickup truck will have a new look and performance parts. Besides the ambiguous picture, no other details are available yet. Be on the lookout for the new truck to make its debut in a few days.
