Passat R or Polo Pocket-Rocket may be on the way.
Topping the popular Golf line, the Golf R has become one of the finest hot hatches available. In Europe, the Scirocco R packages similar abilities in a coupe formation. But could Volkswagen be looking to expand its performance line to include additional models? VW powertrain chief Dr. Heinz-Jakob Neusser recently told Motoring that additional R models are under consideration. With little details offered, speculation ranges from a production version of the Golf R 400 Beijing concept to hotter versions of the Passat and the tiny Polo.
