It's Official: Lamborghini to Build Topless Veneno

Limited Edition

Missed out on getting your hands on a Veneno? You'll soon have a second chance with the roadster variant.

Love it or hate it, the Lamborghini Veneno is certainly a rare thing. Based off the Aventador, just four will be built and one of which will spend its life at the Lamborghini museum in Sant’ Agata, Italy. The remaining three were sold for a price of $4 million each. A few weeks ago, word began to spread that the Italian automaker was considering building a roadster version, but nothing was for sure. Today, however, we can confirm that Lamborghini will build a topless Veneno.

The news was confirmed by Car and Driver during an interview with Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann. Set to be called the Veneno Roadster, it will cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $4.4 million - 10 percent more than the Veneno hard top. With the exception of the roof, no other powertrain or major styling changes are expected. No word yet on exactly how many are planned, but it obviously won’t be many.
