Earlier this month Jeep unveiled several new concepts that just about everyone would love to see make production. That Hellcat-powered Wrangler looks particularly naughty but sadly, we haven't heard anything about its future. In fact, only one of those concepts has been confirmed for production by the guy who designed it. Outside Magazine recently spoke with the head of Jeep design, Mark Allen, to discuss his awesome creations. Here's the best part:

N/A

Allen stated that "We're finally going to get to do a pickup truck. I can't explain too much, but there may be things you see on the Crew Chief that you might see on that truck." The Crew Chief, just so that we're clear, is that new four-door Wrangler concept. How do we know it'll likely have four doors? Allen: "Oddly enough though, we've never done a crew cab pickup (concept) before. Hint, hint." The Crew Chief also features a six-foot bed, indicating that Jeep is totally serious about doing a real truck with real truck hauling abilities. For better or worse, the concept's retro styling won't make production. When is all of this awesomeness due to arrive? Well, the next Wrangler isn't expected until 2016, so 2017 for the pickup sounds plausible.
