Replaces the department's Gallardo.
Italy may be home to some of the world's finest supercar makers, but that doesn't mean every other car on the road is a Ferrari or a Maserati. Nevertheless, the Italian State Police has bolstered its patrol fleet with a new Lamborghini Huracan in order to show exotic owners just whose boss. Replacing the department's Gallardos, the Huracan LP 610-4 Polizia is wrapped in a blue and white livery and comes with four sirens and a LED light bar.
Where the Dubai's supercar police fleet is merely for show, Italy's Huracan Polizia is well-equipped for duty. A "Proof Video Data System" uses a camera and computer to record suspicious activity, it's equipped with a gun holster, a police radio and "Paletta" that instructs motorists to pull over. It also packs a defibrillator and a little fridge used to transport lifesaving organs. Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann said 'We have a strong and fitting relationship with the Italian State Police. The new Lamborghini Huracán stands for Italian super sports car excellence and we are proud to provide it to the Italian State Police to carry out the specialist tasks these police cars undertake."
