If you're old enough to remember, the Ford Ranger Splash was an appearance package offered on the old generation back in the 1990s. Now that the midsize truck has been revived, Ford figured it'd be appropriate to do the same with the Splash. Introducing the 2022 Ford Ranger Splash, once again a color styling package that comes with cool-looking orange and black body-side graphics, unique matte black 18-inch, 12-spoke wheels, orange and black trim inside and out, more stylish seats, and limited run, one-time-only paint colors.

Earlier this summer we discovered Ford filed a trademark application for the Splash name and hypothesized it'd be used for an electrified Ranger.

Not quite, but we're still thrilled an old favorite has returned. Ford says the Splash package will come in two different styles, called the Splash Package and Splash Limited Edition. The former will be available for the entirety of the upcoming model year. In addition to those graphics, the truck features grille nostrils, gloss black grille accents, bumpers, rearview mirror caps, wheel lip moldings, and fender vents.

Step inside and you'll discover orange contrast seat stitching and carbon grain with tuxedo stripes. Lariat models feature leather-trimmed seats. This stitching color scheme continues on the steering wheel, gear shifter, and parking brake boot while Lariat models receive additional stitching on the front and rear armrests and on top of the dash.

Buyers can combine the Splash Package with the FX2 or FX4 off-road package as well. The Splash Limited Edition, meanwhile, will become available every few months as part of a series of one-off color hues. Only a few hundred will be built at a time. The wheels will remain the same as on regular Splash models, but the exterior and interior colors will differ each time.

The Splash - Snow Edition will be the first to arrive, and while no pictures have been revealed just yet, we're expecting a white livery akin to the recently revealed Mustang and Mustang Mach-E Ice White Editions. The regular Splash Package, available on SuperCrew models in XLT and Lariat trims, is a $1,495 option and deliveries are due to get underway by the end of the year.
