This September 8 in London is when we'll see Jaguar's highly anticipated response to the BMW 3 Series. No, this isn't the old X-Type reborn. It'll be much, much more than that car ever was. The XE will be the entry-level sport sedan we've been wanting from Jaguar for years. Although no official images have been released just yet (expect to see teasers soon though), Jaguar has just announced a few details ahead of the official reveal.

The UK automaker states that the XE "combines thrilling performance, agile handling and precise, responsive steering, with outstanding levels of refinement." The car will be equipped with an F-Type-derived front suspension and an Integral Link rear suspension. This combination will enable a true sports sedan driving feel and maximum comfort. Obviously the XE will be rear-wheel-drive, but Jaguar claims to have developed something called All Surface Progress Control, a system that can electronically gain traction in the most slippery conditions without skidding and without the driver using the pedals. We'll just have to wait a couple more months for complete details and photos. BMW 3 Series, you've been warned.
