Rumors have come up now and then regarding the future of Jaguar's lineup. While some premium automakers (cough, cough: Bentley) have recently shown disappointing concepts of what their future SUV could be, Jaguar seems to have taken note of their fellow British-based automaker's recent embarrassment. Jaguar design chief Ian Callum stated at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this month that an "SUV is out of the question. We have a sister company that produces the best SUVs in the world."

And who exactly is that sister company? Land Rover. Callum continued by claiming that "an SUV is too utilitarian for Jaguar, but maybe there are some grey areas in between we could investigate." That grey area is apparently a potential crossover. Callum refused to comment on a potential Jaguar CUV, but we do know that the next generation XF sedan will ride on a new all-wheel drive platform. In other words, a future Jaguar crossover seems like a very real possibility. Perhaps Bentley should be taking notes regarding the logic coming from Jaguar product planners.
