Americans will have to wait another month for the F-Type. But from today, buyers in the UK can visit their local Jaguar dealership to test drive and maybe even place an order for Jaguar's new roadster. A convoy of 59 F-Types were arranged in a giant F in the car park of the Ricoh Arena in Coventry before embarking on a 1.5-mile procession lead by its spiritual predecessor, the last example of the E-Type ever produced. The event is a recreation of the 60 XKEs that launched the model in 1961.

After the handover, the F-Type demonstrators made their way to their respective dealerships, the nearest being a mere 3.5 miles away, and the furthest a 440 mile drive to Aberdeen, Scotland. While Americans may feel slighted at having to wait longer than the Brits for the new roadster, they will have the last laugh: In Britain, the F-Type ranges from the equivalent of just under $90,000 for the 340hp V6 model to almost $123,000 for the 495hp supercharged V8, whereas in the US, the price ranges from $69,000 to $92,000.
