Jaguar F-Pace Caught Testing in Snowy Europe

Spy Shots

First look at new SUV's disguised production body.

Upon announcing its name, we were confident Jaguar wouldn’t detract too far from the C-X17 Concept in styling its new SUV: the F-Pace, and these first spy shots of the model in production sheetmetal confirms our suspicions. Spied cold weather testing in Sweden, the Jaguar F-Pace will ride on the same aluminium unibody, modular chassis as the XE sedan. It will also share its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit and 3.0-liter supercharged V6 powerplants, with diesel and hybrid variants to follow.

An F-Pace R powered by the British carmaker’s ubiquitous 5.0-liter V8 is also a distinct possibility. There's been no word on when the new SUV will debut, but Jaguar intends the F-Pace to be in showrooms early 2016, when it will cross swords with the likes of the BMW X5, Porsche Macan and Audi Q5.
