Jaguar F-Type Project 7 Coming Stateside for $165K

For the same money you could by a F-Type R and a base F-Type V6.

Those who consider the $100,000 asking price for the range-topping F-Type R small change and have a burning desire to own the most-powerful production Jag ever built, the British carmaker is offering the F-Type Project 7 in the US for a cool $165,000. All 250 planned units will be hand-built by Jag’s Special Operations division. Power comes from the firm’s ubiquitous 5.0-liter supercharged V8 rated at 567 hp – 20-hp more than the R Coupe – which is sent to the rear wheels through the same eight-speed ZF gearbox.

0-60 mph happens in a blazing 3.8 seconds and top speed is 186 mph. Jaguar claims the Project 7 has 177 percent more downforce than the standard F-Type convertible. That extra downforce can be attributed to some slick carbon fiber bodywork, including a new front splitter, rear diffuser, adjustable rear spoiler, and larger side skirts. Weight is also down compared to the regular V8 model by 176 lbs. US buyers will have a choice of Glacier White, revealed here in a new batch of pictures, or the same shade of Ultra Blue worn by the concept. For a premium, the Project 7 is also available in British Racing Green, Ultimate Black and Caldera Red.
