Jaguar is seriously considering extending the F-Type lineup with a Targa variant. Design boss Ian Callum hinted that a Targa model is on the table after the Porsche 911 Targa recently debuted to high praise. Speaking at the UK launch of the F-Type Coupe, Callum admitted to Auto Express that a F-Type with a retractable hard top roof is being considered. "The issue with the Targa is volume. If you think of Porsche, 10 per cent of its cars are Targa, 10 per cent of ours is less than theirs.

You have to work out the business case but we have considered it, it's not decided yet." Callum also revealed "three or four cars" are currently being worked on with a production variant of the Jaguar C-X17 SUV set to come in 2016 following the brand's small sedan, rumored to be dubbed the XS.
