The wait for Jaguar's first SUV is almost over as the vehicle is set to debut in production form at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show. However, we have new details on the SUV that make it a stand out vehicle in its sometimes boring segment. The Jaguar F-Pace is expected to start at $46,000, which makes it a competitor to the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Porsche Macan. As a "performance crossover," the F-Pace is expected to come in a range of four and six-cylinder engines with a supercharged V8 model as a possible F-Pace SVR badge.

While the F-Pace's full specs will be confirmed later this year, we now know that the SUV will only be available as a five-seater. The F-Pace will feature the same aluminum-intensive platform as the new Jaguar XE sedan. To ensure that the SUV has a sporty ride, the F-Pace will have a double wishbone front and integral-linked rear suspension setup. Besides sharing the XE's chassis, the F-Pace will have the same InControl infotainment system, interior switchgear and engine line-up. If the F-Pace drives as good as it looks, then it's the SUV we'd buy.
