As promised, Jaguar has lifted the wraps off its most powerful road car ever at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed: the extreme XE SV Project 8. Limited to only 300 units, the Project 8 sources its potent power from the 5.0-liter supercharged F-Type SVR, but gets a hefty power boost from 567-hp to 592-hp resulting in a blistering 0-62 mph time of 3.3 seconds and a 200 mph top speed. Yes, that's supercar performance in a sedan. We spotted it for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed and it looks absolutely menacing.

For that it can thank its quad exhausts, flared fenders, and lowered ride height. Compared to the standard XE, 75 percent of the body panels are brand new – only the hood and roof has been retained while a cheese grater has been added to the front fascia. Even the headlights have been moved by 14 mm to make room for the beefier wheel arches. Despite only being sold in the UK, the Project 8 is available exclusively in left hand drive for optimum weight distribution. An adjustable front splitter and rear wing help generate more downforce, and the lightweight aluminum body panels have been extensively modified. A carbon fiber bumper and vented hood help shed extra weight.

A Track Pack is also available which removes the rear seats and adds carbon fiber racing seats at the front with a four-point harness to save another 12.5 kg (27.5 pounds). Prices for the hardcore XE start at £149,995 (just over $192,000), with deliveries expected to start next May.
