Last year, Jaguar launched a new "Chequered Flag" edition of its famed sports car, the F-Type, to celebrate 70 years of the company building sporty models starting with the XK120. Now, the XF Sedan and XF Sportbrake are also getting the Chequered Flag treatment as part of the latest model year updates, which adds unique exterior enhancements and interior design elements.

"The XF Saloon and Sportbrake combine the elegance and exceptional performance which underline all Jaguars," said Jaguar's Director of Design, Ian Callum. "Both XF models feature beautiful silhouettes giving them a dynamic appearance perfectly suited to the Chequered Flag badge."

Exterior enhancements that distinguish the Chequered Flag models from the rest of the range include unique badging on the side vents, a sporty front bumper, Black Pack, body-colored side sills, trunk spoiler, and 18-inch Chalice alloy wheels finished in Gloss Black. Three exterior colors are available for the new special edition sedan: Yulong White, Santorini Black and Eiger Grey.

Inside, the XF Saloon and Sportbrake Chequered Flag models feature unique interior badging on the treadplates, Dark Hex aluminium instrument panel finisher, R-Sport leather, and a choice of Jet/Jet or Jet/Red color combinations with contrast stitching. As standard, the special edition XF comes with a 12.3-inch Interactive Driver Display, 10-inch touchscreen, Navigation Pro with InControl Connect Pro that features a Live Traffic function, Share ETA, and keyless entry. All versions of the XF now also include a new standard Smartphone pack with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

Two gasoline and three diesel engines are available for the Chequered Flag models. These include a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline unit with 246 hp and 296 hp, a 2.0-liter diesel that delivers 177 hp and 237 hp, and a 3.0-liter V6 diesel with 296 hp. All-wheel drive is available on all units except for the V6 and is standard on the 237-hp diesel. Prices start from £34,950 ($46,020) for the sedan and £37,390 ($49,226) for the Sportbrake in the UK.
