Jaguar is one of few automakers that still sell wagons in the US. Introduced in 2017 for the 2018 model year, the Jaguar XF Sportbrake competes with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wagon and Volvo V90. Thankfully, wagons are slowly starting to make a comeback in the US thanks to the revival of the Audi RS6 Avant.

However, it clearly hasn't been a strong seller because Jaguar dealers across the US are offering some crazy discounts right now to help shift old inventory. There are even still some new First Edition examples left for sale that should have sold out fast at launch.

One Jaguar dealer in Waukesha, Wisconsin, for example, has several 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrakes in stock, including one that will set you back just $49,842, saving over $20,000 off the MSRP. In Bellevue, Washington, another dealer is selling a new 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake S AWD for $59,273.

When it was new, the 2018 Jaguar XF Sportbrake S started at $70,450 and packs a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine producing 380 horsepower, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is offered as standard, allowing the performance wagon to sprint from 0-62 mph in 5.3 seconds.

The 2020 Jaguar XF S Sportbrake, on the other hand, starts at $71,800, while the entry-level Prestige starts at $65,150 and packs a 296-hp 2.0-liter turbo-four allowing it to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 5.7 seconds. For the 2020 model year, Jaguar also added standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support and new Eiger Grey and Portofino Blue exterior colors for the XF Sportbrake.

Getting a hot XF Sportbrake S for less than the price of a brand new entry-level 2020 XF Prestige sounds like a great deal to us. It will be interesting to see if a similar situation happens to the Audi RS6 Avant when it goes on sale in America.
