In case you haven't heard, there's a new Gran Turismo video game. Gran Turismo 7 launched for the Playstation 5 this week, and both video game and car enthusiasts alike are drooling over its stunning graphics. To celebrate the new game's launch, Jaguar added a special concept vehicle called the Vision Gran Turismo Roadster. This is the third Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo vehicle, following the Vision GT Coupe and Vision GT SV.

Like the coupe version, the Jaguar Vision Turismo Roadster is all-electric, using light, compact electric motors from the Jaguar TCS Racing Formula E series. Those motors combined to produce over 1,000 horsepower, culminating in a sub-two-second 0-60 mph time and a 200 mph-plus top speed. Tesla Roadster, eat your heart out.

All three Jaguar concepts will be drivable in GT7. Jaguar's Design team created a special livery for each one. Jaguar says the specially-developed black and grey paints and graphics emphasize the dramatic designs. The Vision Gran Turismo Roadster features a single-seat race car design that clearly harkens back to the stunning D-Type, including the green paint with white racing meatball.

Other D-Type elements include a fin behind the driver and a swept-back aero screen directly in front. That rear fin has a Union Jack etched into it using the Jaguar monogram pattern as an added special touch. We hope elements from these three concepts make their way into the next-generation Jaguar F-Type Convertible because they look stunning.

"As a car designer, being part of the team that has delivered three virtual cars for the Gran Turismo series has been a dream project. Since the reveal of the Vision GT Coupe in 2019 and Vision GT SV in 2020, we wanted to curate the perfect way to present the full line-up of the three cars together when we revealed the Roadster. Gran Turismo 7 is the perfect way to do it," says Oliver Cattell-Ford, Exterior Designer, Jaguar Advanced Design.
