Turns out Sir Elton John's Ferrari Daytona isn't the only motor with a musician on its owners list crossing the auction block. Jay Kay is best known as the front man of British band Jamiroquai, but the rock star is also an avid car collector. He set the fastest time around the Top Gear test track when he appeared on the show in the Clarkson era, and has an eclectic collection of rare exotics including a unique Kermit Green LaFerrari. In 2009, he added a Lancia Delta Integrale to his coveted collection which is now looking for a new owner.

Jay Kay's Delta happens to be an exquisite Evo II, arguably the most desirable model in the range that marked the end of the first generation of the Lancia Delta when it launched in 1993. According to the listing on Silverstone Auctions, this particular Delta was originally supplied to Italy in 1994 before being imported to the UK in 2000 and later finding its way into Jay Kay's massive car collection in 2009. Under the hood lies a 2-liter 16-valve turbo engine that sends a respectable 212-horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels, figures that were hugely impressive for the time and still hold up today.

From a standstill, the Evo II takes 5.2 seconds to hit 62 mph. Of course, the Delta is most famous for dominating the World Rally Championship, winning six titles between 1987 and 1992, which spawned the road-going Integrale homologation special. An engine misfire led to Jay Kay sending it to a Lancia specialist for a complete engine rebuild earlier this year, which included a block rebore, cylinder head skimming, polished crankshaft bearing journals, and new forged pistons and new bearings all round. Despite recently spending $10,690 on the rebuild, Jay Kay is now parting ways with his Delta Integrale.

Considering its rarity and celebrity connection, Silverstone Auctions expects Jay Kay's Delta Integrale Evo II to fetch between £30,000 -£35,000 ($38,612 - $45,048) plus a buyer's premium of 15 percent when it crosses the auction block later this month.
