Jay Leno Drives His Daimler SP250, Once Voted The Ugliest Car Of The 1959 New York Auto Show

Classic Cars

By people who had clearly never seen a Pontiac Aztek.

Originally known as the Dart, the SP250 had its name changed in order to avoid any copyright issues with Chrysler. The car's styling wasn't very warmly received, and while there have certainly been prettier cars, we've had plenty of uglier ones since. We'll go with “acquired taste” for now. We really like the videos where Jay Leno takes us through the restoration process for one of his cars, and we're happy to see that this is one of them.

The restoration was badly needed, but the car is looking good now. At least, as good as it's going to look.
