That's great news for buyers.
The North American Car, Truck, and SUV of 2019 were announced a few months ago, with the Chevrolet Corvette, Jeep Gladiator, and Kia Telluride taking home the honors. Jeep was thrilled with the victory and according to Mopar Insiders, the company will celebrate by offering a "Truck of the Year" Package for two Gladiator trim levels. No official announcement has been made just yet but thanks to dealership order guides, we know what to expect from these option packages.
Even with massive discounts, the Gladiator is among the most expensive options in the mid-size pickup truck segment with a starting price of $33,545 for the Sport trim. Go crazy with options on a Gladiator Rubicon and you can pay more than $60,000. The Truck of the Year Packages will be more reasonable.
The first Truck of the Year Package is available on the Sport S model and adds a black hardtop roof, the Technology Group with a seven-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system (over a standard five-inch screen), the Convenience Group with a universal garage door opener, remote starter, and the Trailer Tow Package with a 240-amp alternator, new receiver hitch, heavy-duty engine cooler, and trailer hitch zoom feature for the rearview camera.
This package will reportedly cost $1,495 but will include $3,135 worth of options. This means buyers can save $1,640 by opting for the Truck of the Year Package instead of selecting the hardtop roof and Trailer Tow Package separately.
For even greater savings, buyers can opt for the Truck of the Year package on the mid-level Overland trim level. This package also includes a black hardtop roof and Trailer Tow Package but now adds an 8.4-inch Uconnect system, premium audio, and leather seats. This package will be priced at $2,495 and include $4,735 worth of options, resulting in a savings of $2,240. Both of these packages should be available to order soon from your local Jeep dealership.
