Jeep Gladiator And Wrangler Gain Some Wild Paint Colors

Including a limited-edition green.

While most buyers opt for discrete shades like white, black, or silver when ordering a car, Jeep offers some pretty wild colors for owners who like to make a statement. Jeep's color palette already includes some well-named options like Hellayella (yellow) and Snazzberry (red), but this has now been expanded with a limited-edition Gecko (green) color. Gecko is available for a limited time only on the 2021 Jeep Gladiator and 2021 Jeep Wrangler, but unfortunately, the V8-powered Rubicon 392 model isn't eligible.

According to the configurator, the bold green shade is already available on several Wrangler models, but we do not see it on any Gladiator trims as yet. Jeep says Gecko is available to order on Wrangler until August 2021, while availability on Gladiator will go through October. The included photo on a Gladiator Rubicon shows a deep, Kermit the Frog type of green, but the Gecko color looks much paler on the configurator.

Jeep says Gecko is now available on all Gladiator and Wrangler trims for just $245. This seems like an insignificant sum to pay for a limited edition color that could end up being quite sought after in the future. Other special-run colors for the 2021 model year include Nacho (orange) and Chief Blue, first shown on the Islander Special Edition. Both cost $245 as well.

"Customization is at the core of both Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Gladiator, and new colors and equipment allow the customer customization journey to begin at the factory," said Jim Morrison, Vice President, Jeep Brand North America. "Bold colors like Gecko Green give our customers the chance to stand out on the trails, while the tough Gorilla Glass windshield will help them bring their Jeep home unscathed."

Along with the fresh colors, Jeep will offer a factory-installed Corning Gorilla Glass windshield that is more durable and less subject to rock chips. This option is priced at only $95 on Sport S, Sahara, Overland (Gladiator), Rubicon, and Mojave (Gladiator) trim levels. Jeep says this glass has a 52% thicker outer ply, making it three times more resistant to chips, cracks, and fractures.
