Jeep is no stranger to the world of performance cars, despite spending most of its time manufacturing rugged off-road vehicles. Its Grand Cherokee SRT and bombastic Grand Cherokee Trackhawk both deliver breathtaking levels of performance, and can often be seen on the drag strip racing against more traditional sports cars. As with any other performance-minded vehicle, the aftermarket has snapped up the chance to make these super SUVs even faster, with companies such as Hennessey turning up the power on these cars to ridiculous levels. But for owners who prefer a milder tuning approach, AWE, a tuning company based outside of Philadelphia has released a new exhaust suite for the WK2 Jeep Trackhawk and SRT.

The aim of these new exhaust systems is to "grant the HEMI-powered SUVs a deep, rasp-free soundtrack" by using a custom H-pipe design. "The growl produced by this new line is going to be a welcomed addition to the Grand Cherokee exhaust options on the market. Finally, an exhaust that meets the power and acoustic needs of the WK2 platform," said AWE vice president, Jesse Kramer.

Buyers can be rest assured that these systems meet all the correct requirements, as AWE works hand-in-hand with Mopar drag racing, and these systems have been designed to work with the factory quad tips, but AWE offers its own dual 5-inch double-walled, slash-cut tips in chrome silver or diamond black.

These bespoke exhaust systems offer gains of three horsepower and 12 lb-ft of torque at the wheels on the SRT, and 12 hp and 11 lb-ft on the Trackhawk. Proudly designed and manufactured in the USA, the AWE exhaust suite is handcrafted from full 3-inch CNC mandrel-bent, US-made 0.065-inch wall T304L stainless steel and is a direct bolt-on for a factory-fit finish. AWE guarantees that no CEL lights will pop up on the dashboard, and customers also get a lifetime guarantee. What's more American than making your V8 muscle car louder? Very little.
