For the first time ever, the Grand Cherokee will be offered with three rows of seats. The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L was revealed in full not long ago and the regular length version will debut shortly. The fifth-generation Grand Cherokee lineup will remain a critical part of Jeep's lineup and the extra row of seats will surely increase its popularity. While the outgoing 2020 Grand Cherokee carried a base price of $32,150, the completely new three-row model won't be that much more expensive.
Car and Driver noticed the automaker posted Grand Cherokee L pricing on its official website last Friday but quickly removed it for an unknown reason. But the good news is that those figures are now exposed.
The 2021 Grand Cherokee L will begin at $38,490 and can climb as high as $60,490 when fully equipped. That's a $2,775-$8,080 difference between the outgoing two-row model and the new L. The least expensive Grand Cherokee L is the Laredo trim, powered by the familiar 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 with standard rear-wheel-drive. Pricing for the optional all-wheel drive or additional trim packages was not listed (before being taken offline, of course).
Just to bear in mind, the also three-row Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade both cost several thousand less and have nearly the same output as the Grand Cherokee L Laredo. Climbing up the trim ladder, the Limited begins at $45,490 and tacks on leather seats, heated second-row seats, and a power liftgate.
The Overland has a $56,490 starting price and the 5.7-liter Hemi becomes optional, though how much more the V8 costs remains unknown. Additional Overland features include power-folding third-row seats, cooled second-row seats, and a premium audio system. The Summit, as its name clearly implies, is the most-equipped and most expensive trim, starting at $60,490. Buyers will receive 20-inch wheels, four-zone automatic climate control, messaging front seats, Nappa leather, and all other features on lower trims.
Chance are, Jeep will re-post pricing and launch the online configurator very soon because the Grand Cherokee L is due to arrive in dealerships this spring.
