Jeep is preparing to begin its upcoming European assault next month at Frankfurt with the unveiling of the Grand Cherokee SRT8 and the Wrangler with the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6. Although Americans are utterly familiar with Jeeps (to say the least), the brand doesn't have quite the same status in Europe, but under new owner Fiat, this will hopefully change. With the SRT8's 6.4-liter 470hp HEMI V-8, Europeans are about to get a major dose of what American V-8 power is all about.

Both the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited will also be showcased along with the new Wrangler Arctic special edition model. It is based off the Sahara and its winter theme features styling cues such as Arctic badges, 17-inch black wheels, original Mopar accessories, and an upgraded interior. Engine choices will either be the 3.6 or a 2.8-liter turbo diesel that's mated to either a six-speed manual or a five-speed auto. The Arctic edition will be available in Europe in early 2012. Jeep will have a 760 square-meter exhibition at the show that will include multiple terrains, videos, and the general theme of anywhere capabilities.

There's also going to be a Grand Cherokee interior concept that will feature exclusive blue leather seats and interior details that are meant to be a design exercise that "shows what level of first-class refinement, style, and craftsmanship the Jeep brand can reach with its flagship model." For Jeep's big European launch, the timing couldn't be much better as the brand celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2011.
