Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is a brand that embraces quirkiness, as evidenced by all of the various models with 700-plus horsepower supercharged V8s under the hood. But the Jeep brand especially loves to give buyers subtle (and not so subtle) Easter Eggs that can be spotted around each vehicle. We first noticed some of these easter eggs while driving the 2020 Jeep Compass then again while reviewing the 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. These include a Willys Jeep silhouette on the windshield, a pair of flip flops near the wipers, and a plaque showing the dimensions of the JL Wrangler.

Jeep owners are having so much fun discovering their Easter Eggs in recent months, the American automaker has announced a new contest where fans can submit their best ideas for a new Easter Egg, which will then be used on a future model.

"Jeep 'Easter eggs' started with the 2011 Grand Cherokee," said Mark Allen, Head of Jeep Design. "We added small Jeep grilles inside the headlamp bulb shields. It was an off-the-cuff addition of a graphic to an otherwise standard piece. After that, we started sprinkling small graphics on various vehicles. When we did the refresh on the Wrangler, we added a small side profile of a Jeep climbing up from the corner of the windshield, which became a point of delight for the customer. These small elements are a surprise and delight for our customers and help convey the human touch behind our products, which is appreciated."

Ideas can be submitted at TheNextJeepEasterEgg.com and the winner will be rewarded with a Jeep vehicle of their choice (up to $50,000). The contest is now open but entries will close on Thursday, July 2, 2020.

The contest will be judged on four criteria, each accounting to 25 percent of the final decision. These include creativity (presenting the idea in an effective manner), Jeep brand power (being in-line with the brand), quality/actionable (expressing the idea clearly and concisely), and originality/authenticity (representing a new idea).
