On the whole, Stellantis does a great job at offering interesting colors for its cars. Alfa Romeo has an incredible brilliant emerald green, and Dodge has one color called "Hell Raisin'." And now Jeep just debuted two new colors for the 2023 Jeep Wrangler.

The first color is called Earl is actually one we've seen before. It's right off the Jeep Gladiator Farout, a concept shown in 2020.

For those up to speed on their paint colors, this looks to be something reminiscent of Audi's Nardo Grey or Porsche's Chalk. It's a grey shade with very little metal flake effect in it.

The result is a rather tough-looking color that doesn't reflect much light. If you ask us, it works rather well on what's supposed to be a tough-looking off-roader. We're just a little bummed it doesn't come with the concept car's neat interior.

The second color, as you've probably figured out, is purple. This is not a ripoff of Dodge's purple offering either. Hell Raisin' has more metal flake in it, giving that color real depth in the sun, like the Tuscadero Wrangler 392 pictured below. This one, dubbed Reign Purple, is instead a much flatter tone, which Jeep debuted on the 2018 Wrangler.

The name was likely chosen as a result of purple's long-standing use as a color reserved for royalty. "We received a lot of positive feedback on Earl when it debuted on the Gladiator Farout concept, and we work to deliver what our customers tell us they want," said Jim Morrison, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. "These limited-run colors like Earl and Reign draw a huge enthusiast following because they're exciting, authentic and stand out, much like the Jeep community."

Jeep has told us that the new colors are available on all Wrangler models including the Wrangler Sport, Sahara, Rubicon, 4xe and 392 models, and the new Freedom Edition. For the 2023 MY, they join Firecracker Red, High Velocity, Hydro Blue, Sarge Green, Silver Zynith, Sting Gray, Granite Crystal, Black and Bright White.

Earl is priced at $395, whereas Reign Purple will cost $495.
