Now this is a somewhat unexpected, yet unconfirmed piece of news. Auto Spies claims to have received an anonymous tip claiming that a redesigned Jeep Wrangler will be unveiled sometime in 2014. The information's source comes from a Jeep dealership in Alberta, Canada. It posted on its website that the 2014 Wrangler will continue with the new 3.6-liter V6 and that a slight power increase is likely. The six-speed manual transmission will carry over as well.

However, there's a chance the five-speed automatic may be replaced by a CVT in order to improve the ride, increase peak power band, and boost fuel economy. Off-roading capabilities will supposedly not be watered down and may even improve due to the extra power. The updated exterior design is still not finalized but there was mention of "aerodynamic adjustments". The dealership also claims that a pickup version is also due to arrive, but based on various statements from Jeep execs lately, we're still skeptical on this point. For now, neither Jeep nor its Chrysler/Fiat parent company have commented on this rumor, so we'll just have to wait and see.
