Jeremy Clarkson on the GT86

Video

“It has a top speed from the 1980s and a 0-60 time of a not particularly dramatic animal… but this is one of the best cars I’ve driven in ages.”

Top Gear's oafish presenter has gotten a taste of the Toyota GT86 and found it to be very palatable indeed. It's not terribly shocking to discover Britain's leading car guy gets a thrill from driving Toyota's boxer-powered sportscar, handling as sweet as it does. Not one to mince his words, Clarkson describes it as being "designed by enthusiasts for enthusiasts." Obviously he wouldn't swap it for his Ferrari 458 Italia but it's hard not to like a car that you can drift around a turning circle at 20 mph.

This isn't a full on review, simply an excerpt from Clarkson's latest DVD. But it's still worth a watch, especially if you're a fan (as many of us are) of the big man's idiosyncratic one-liners and typically dry British wit.
