Joint McLaren-Honda Prototype Formula 1 Race Car is Now on the Track for Testing

Motorsport

Badass car that unfortunately sounds like crap. Thanks, V6 engine rule.

The past couple of years haven’t been great for McLaren in Formula 1. The team went from being within spitting distance of a constructor’s championship to finishing 5th two years in a row. In fact, the last time they won a championship with Mercedes power was 1998. So McLaren is going back to using Honda engines, just like they did back in the late Eighties and early Nineties, when they were the dominant team in F1.

Sure, having Ayrton Senna as a driver might have helped, but McLaren is making the switch anyway, and we’re all very curious as to how it will work out.
