Multi-millionaire child star and world-famous pop icon Justin Bieber is not having a good time. Outside of his personal woes - not really CarBuzz's jurisdiction - he's reportedly been hit with some bad news: Ferrari has blacklisted him. Bieber has been known to buy a few exclusive supercars here and there, with cars such as the Ferrari LaFerrari, a chromed-out Fisker Karma, and a Ferrari 458 Italia suffering under his dubious tutelage. Bieber has now been blacklisted by Maranello house for not following the highly respected ethical code set out by Ferrari, and it seems like it's pretty permanent.
Bieber took ownership of his white Ferrari 458 Italia back in 2011 and to Ferrari's obvious disgust, proceeded to paint it Electric Blue (thanks West Coast Customs) and fitted it with a Liberty Walk widebody kit. As reported by Il Giornale, the worst crime of all is the fact that Bieber had the Ferrari badges covered in Electric Blue. Ferrari makes it clear to every owner that their vehicles are not to be tampered with. Ferrari owners are not allowed to modify the engine, do any type of body modifications, or paint its cars in Florida Stripper Blue, or pink, or Pokemon-themed. Ferrari must approve any modifications before they are carried out. It's as simple as that.
Bieber crossed yet another line in 2017 when he auctioned off his second (also Smurf-colored following a respray) 458 Italia; another no-no for Ferrari. Ferrari forbids customers from selling their cars during the first year of ownership, but any plans for a sale thereafter must still be approved by head office. Ferrari set this rule to discourage car flipping and preserve the integrity of the brand to its most loyal customers. The ban means that Bieber will not be eligible to be selected for Ferrari's exclusive model waiting lists, but with so much money in the bank, we're sure that Biebs won't have any issues convincing other Ferrari owners to part with their prancing horses. Bieber now joins an esteemed list of Ferrari's blacklisted which includes Kim Kardashian and Nicolas Cage.
