Back in August at the 2019 Auto Shanghai, Karma Automotive unveiled the SC1 Vision Concept roadster previewing the company's future design language alongside the new Revero GT. Just a few months later, the SC1 is already getting a successor, as Karma Automotive has announced it will reveal the new SC2 concept at the 2019 LA Auto Show this month.

Whereas the SC1 was a Tesla-rivalling roadster, the SC1 appears to be a sporty-looking coupe with gullwing doors, a long hood, and a short rear deck. Don't be surprised if the SC2 is simply a coupe version of the SC1, but we'll have to wait and see if Karma has made any further design changes to distinguish it.

Details are scarce, but the SC1 Vision Concept represented Karma's vision of a future EV, sporting a dramatic design and a futuristic, technologically advanced interior featuring a new infotainment architecture with 5G connectivity and user interfaces operated by touch, voice, and eye.

In addition, Karma will also outline its future plans at the LA Auto Show to expand beyond the auto industry. "Karma is evolving beyond a car company to become a tech-driven brand equally focused on being an important engineering, design, customization resource, and high-tech incubator to others," CEO Dr. Lance Zhou, said. "As the only company creating and building cars in Southern California today, Karma's presence at these two major automotive forums reinforces our commitment to and our investment in the region."

Last but not least, Karma will also unveil the new Karma Revero GTS, a performance version of the 2020 Revero GT. The regular Revero GT is powered by two electric motors and a BMW-sourced, turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine that powers an on-board electric generator, resulting in a combined output of 535 horsepower.

It isn't known yet how much power the GTS version will have, but Karma has confirmed it will do 0-62 mph in 3.5 seconds, a full second faster than the Revero GT, and will also have a premium interior and special wheels.
