With only two weeks to go until the 2017 Detroit Auto Show, Kia is the latest manufacturer to tease us about an upcoming reveal at NAIAS. The Korean manufacturer, perhaps best known for offering a full seven year warranty as standard in Europe and for being Top Gear's "Reasonably Priced Car," isn't normally associated with performance, but that's about to change with the launch of its new GT sports sedan. Ahead of its official unveiling next month, Kia has released a new teaser video giving us a peek at its sleek styling.

We've already seen the curvaceous design in various concept images and spy shots, and it's fair to say it's quite a diversion from its typically modest shapes. The video also highlights some of the GT's sporty design elements, including hood vents, quad tailpipes, LED lights and a distinctive chrome strip running alongside the back window.

The official description says: "The curve, and the sense of curiosity, is also brought to life in the concave, fastback silhouette of Kia's long-awaited all-new car. Inspired by a concept, Kia's newest vehicle marries heart-pounding performance with purposeful and progressive design." Performance details haven't been revealed, but the Kia GT is rumored to be powered by a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 generating over 360 horsepower. Previous teaser videos have showed the GT achieving 0-62 mph in 5.1 seconds making it the fastest-accelerating Kia to date, and reaching speeds over 150 mph at the Nurburgring. Expect all to be revealed on January 8 2017 when the Detroit Auto Show kicks off.
