Is a six-speed manual transmission enough to transform a budget hatchback into a driver's car?
The Kia Rio isn't exactly what we'd call a "driver's car", but Kia is trying, however, weakly, to change that with this latest announcement. The Korean automaker has announced the availability of a new version of the Rio based on the SX model with a six-speed manual gearbox. The variant is being offered in limited quantities, although Kia Motors America isn't specifying how many it will bring over. The five-door SX with the stick shift is being billed as a car for "driving enthusiasts" and carries an MSRP of $17,900.
