As Kia continues their rapid expansion into numerous segments, it's very clear they have higher aspirations. To where exactly? All indications have been pointing to Germany. Kia has been vocal recently about their desire to take on the best of German automakers, so that means they must actively take on the hot-selling Golf and its sportier-looking three-door hatch cousin, the Scirocco. And now we've been given this first glance at Kia's upcoming Pro Cee'd.

Yes, it's essentially a three-door version of the five-door Cee'd hatch, but it's a totally new design from the B-pillar on back. This gives the car a sportier look, making it more in line with the Opel Astra and even its South Korean cousin, the Hyundai Veloster. Power will likely come from the same turbocharged 201hp 1.6-liter GDI that'll be in the upcoming Veloster Turbo. However, it has only been confirmed for the European market as of now. No word yet on whether North Americans will get to experience what will very likely be a strong hot hatch competitor.
