Kia Reveals New Logo With Stunning Fireworks Display And Guinness World Record

Industry News / Comments

What do you think of Kia's brand new logo?

Following last month's trademark filing leaks, Kia has presented its new brand logo and slogan, marking the start of a new era for the Korean automaker as it prepares to unleash an onslaught of new EVs and a slew of redesigned models.

Kia says the new logo will represent the automaker's "ambitions to establish a leadership position in the future mobility industry by revamping nearly all facets of its business." Resembling a handwritten signature, the logo's unbroken line "conveys Kia's commitment to bringing moments of inspiration, while its symmetry demonstrates confidence."

It certainly looks more modern than Kia's old, uninspiring black oval logo and better reflects the brand's new stylish design language applied to recent models like the stunning Stinger.

Kia unveiled its new logo in style during a livestream event in Incheon, Korea, with a spectacular pyrotechnic display. During the synchronized display, 303 pyrodrones launched hundreds of fireworks to celebrate Kia's new era, setting a new Guinness World Record for the 'Most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launching fireworks simultaneously.'

As well as presenting the all-new logo, Kia also revealed its new global brand slogan: "Movement that inspires," replacing its old "The Power to Surprise" slogan. Unfortunately for Kia, we already knew the brand's new slogan thanks to a leak last month.

Kia will reveal more details about its brand strategy and its future model lineup in a 'New Kia Brand Showcase' online event that will be streamed on Kia's YouTube channel on January 14, 2021 16:00 PST/January 15, 2021 01:00 CET. No further details were announced, but there's a good chance Kia will use the event to showcase the first of seven new dedicated electric models that will join the automaker's lineup by 2027.

Kia could also preview the all-new Sportage and the next-generation Sedona at the event, but all will be revealed next week.
