Kia is off to Times Square ahead of the New Year.
The Kia Telluride, or more specifically, the rugged Telluride X-Pro, will kick off this year's New Year's celebrations with a nationwide tour of the Times Square New Year's Eve Numerals. These are the numbers we've all seen hung hundreds of feet above Times Square every New Year's Eve for decades.
On November 28, the numbers, towed by the Telluride, departed Los Angeles on its coast-to-coast trip. Coincidentally, or perhaps not, the 2023 Telluride got a bump in towing power this year. The trip will cover five destinations spanning the US, of course ending in New York City's Times Square just ahead of this year's celebrations. All told, the Numerals (yes, they do capitalize that) will cover 2,795 miles.
First, the Telluride X-Pro will head to Las Vegas' Area 15. It will be there for an unspecified number of days, arriving on December 1. Area 15 is a newly-built entertainment and shopping center a few miles from the Vegas strip, and we imagine we'll hear more about it as the Vegas Grand Prix draws nearer.
From there, the Numerals head to the Dickens Festival in Franklin, Tennessee on December 10. This is a local Christmas festival held yearly in Franklin. In keeping with the Christmas focus, the Numerals will be at the DC Holiday Market in Washington, DC from December 14-15.
From December 17-18, you'll be able to view the numerals at the German Christmas Village in Philadelphia, which will happen just ahead of the Numerals' arrival in Times Square on December 20.
"For the third consecutive year, Kia America is proud to share the excitement and anticipation of the New Year with people across the U.S., before delivering the iconic Times Square New Year's Eve Numerals to their home at One Times Square," said Russell Wager, vice president, marketing, Kia America. "This nationwide road trip is the perfect beginning to New Year's celebrations and a great way to start 2023 on a positive note."
