Kia UK unveils the new three-door version of their popular Picanto.
Kia has just unveiled online their upcoming three-door version of the Kia before it goes on sale in the UK this September. The new version is sportier with new doors and rear panels, which according to Kia, gives it a "fresh, dynamic appearance." Other exterior changes include a larger front grille that's available with silver or red trim, a revised front bumper with larger foglamps, and exposed twin-chromed exhaust finishes. There will be four trim levels - 1, 1 Air, Halo, and Equinox.
The latter two trims receive Bluetooth, automatic LED lights up front and out back, side skirts, and a red front grille surround. Specifically, the Halo trim includes 14-inch alloys, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, reverse parking sensors, and unique Lunar Glow metallic paint. The top-of-the-line Equinox trim has a 'Chili' red interior and a gloss black fascia and gear knob. Only a manual gearbox is offered along with 15-inch alloys. Power comes from the Picanto's current engine offerings: a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine with 68hp, or a four-cylinder with 84hp.
Each are offered with stop-start and are exempt from London's Congestion Charge. Pricing begins at £7,795 and ranges up to £12,295 and Kia predicts the new three-door version will make up roughly 45 percent of Picanto sales.
