The German auto tuning firm Kicherer has recently announced the unveiling of what it calls the GL 42 Sport Black. This vehicle, based on the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class 420 CDI, was taken by Kicherer and had some finesse and some upgrades added. The power upgrades to the GL 42 Sport Back include a boost to the 4.2-liter CDI diesel engine, which sees a total power output of 375-horsepower and 664 lb-ft of torque.

The tuner also included the Kircherer PowerConverter that refines the response curve of the electronic gas pedal for a more springing acceleration. The tuning kit also features a sport exhaust system with twin pipes and a sharpened Airmatic suspension. The outside is in a matte black foil finish and the grille and Mercedes-Benz badges all re-done in black.
