Kids Had Fun Before Safety Ruled the World of Soccer Moms

Volvo recalls the thrill of being an 80s child.

These days, it would be nearly impossible to become a part of a carpool if your SUV, crossover or minivan wasn't equipped with numerous safety features in each of its two or three rows. But back in the day, it was totally legit for parents to stick their kids in a rear-facing jumpseat installed in the family station wagon’s trunk, with or without seat belts. And those days were awesome, as Volvo recalls in this nostalgic V60 advertisement presented at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth.

The company says that although we've grown up and need to “look forward,” it’s still cool to recall our backwards childhood.
