Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg is gearing up for the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in just a few weeks. In anticipation, Koenigsegg took to Twitter and shared a picture of what appears to be a titanium exhaust tip. Or is it? The well informed among you might recall that the Koenigsegg Regera that debuted last year, had a center mounted exhaust tip. Only it wasn't. Instead the chrome faux exhaust tip was a means of cooling the electric motors. The Regera meanwhile featured two specially designed exhaust tips that are slightly hidden.

Designed specifically for the Regera by Akrapovic, the fin-like stainless-steel exhaust was designed to alter the engine notes pitch at top end; due to the absence of a transmission. Of course this is purely speculation. The design of the titanium piece is certainly unlike any exhaust tip we've ever seen. Koenigsegg could also be developing a direct rival to the elite track only hypercars like the Mclaren P1 GTR or Aston Martin Vulcan. Just a few more weeks until the mad scientist that is Christian Von Koenigsegg unveils a new monster. Count us stoked.
