Koenigsegg CCX Loses Control in Long Island

Crash / 42 Comments

806hp on the narrow streets of Long Island is a recipe for disaster.

The Koenigsegg CCX runs on a 4.7-liter V8 engine equipped with 2 superchargers for a total output of 806hp and 678 lb-ft of torque. With no ABS or traction control, you better be confident in your driving ability to take one of these powerful Swedish machines on the road. Well, confidence doesn't always equal aptitude, as a local car collector located in Long Island, New York, area found out recently. While piloting his supercar last Saturday night, it would appear that he just couldn't handle the thing.

The result was a trip straight into the woods. We can see that there was an impact on the passenger's side door and the area towards the front wheel. The crash took place near Syosset, by Berry Hill Road and Rodeo Drive. When you can accelerate from 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds and hit a top speed of over 200mph, you ought to be wary of those intersections.
