Koenigsegg Explains the One:1's Massive Rear-Wing

Supercar

It's the combination of physics and awesome design.

Perhaps its most distinctive feature is that top mounted, active rear-wing, the very first of its kind. The Koenigsegg One:1, as we all know by now, is something very special. It’s also an outright brilliant display of engineering and innovation. It is the world’s first mega car, after all. The One:1’s rear-wing is more than just for show, despite looking totally awesome. So why is it top- mounted? It’s all about creating downforce and stability at high speed.

And to be honest, we wouldn’t at all be surprised to see competing hyper car brands copying this very concept at some point. But for now, Christian von Koenigsegg himself explains the physics and philosophy behind this revolutionary machine.
