Koenigsegg is Prepping an Entry-Level Model

The awesomeness continues for a slightly cheaper price tag.

The world was introduced to the Koenigsegg One:1 last month at Geneva. We left the show stunned at just how far the Swedish supercar builder had pushed the limits of automotive awesomeness in a relatively short amount of time. Now, as Australia's Motoring reports, company founder and namesake Christian von Koenigsegg has, once again, come up with something great.

Speaking at the New York Auto Show, Koenigsegg quietly announced plans to offer a new entry-level model priced in the $600,000-$700,000 range. Now, "entry-level" for Koenigsegg doesn't have the same meaning as it does for most other brands. In other words, don't expect this new model to be lacking in performance in any way. After all, its price tag is still double for what you'd pay for a Lamborghini Aventador. Koenigsegg didn't give any specific details as to powertrain, performance or a launch date, but we'd be willing to bet the familiar in-house designed and built twin-turbo V8 will be utilized.
