Debuting at the LA Auto Show this year is the all-new Toyota RAV4 EV Demonstration Vehicle. This vehicle is the result of Toyota's collaboration with Tesla Motors, and the two have said that they plan to work with each other more. The RAV4 EV has a target 100-mile range, even with the 220 lb added weight. However, there's more to this new EV than the swapping of engines. Toyota clams that in order to achieve a similar weight distribution, several major components had to be redesigned.

A Toyota representative at the LA show stated that many of the final decisions have yet to be made about the RAV4 EV's production, including where it will be built. Even though Toyota is rolling out this new electric vehicle concept, the company isn't placing all its eggs in the electric basket, or any one type of technology for that matter.
